Tobias Slater-Hunt

Tobias Slater-Hunt is a photographer primarily concerned with the externalisation of internal worlds. His current project, The Ascension, uses Dante's Inferno as an allegory for the artist’s own personal experience of long-term chronic illness, suffering from psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

By utilizing Dante’s Inferno, as one text, and the tableau photograph as a
second text, Tobias creates a dynamic between an existing text and photographic practise that creates an allegorical arena that explores
notions of authorship, interpretation
and illustration.
